"Done is better than perfect."

For a while, I have been guided by this tenet. I've come to the conclusion that it is not true.

What I mean is, in a lot of industries (web technology especially), done is enough. But the thing is, it's not. I believe you need to meditate on your accomplishments & be deeply critical. Every single accomplishment - no matter how small; each line of code, every text shadow, color & typeface chosen.

The people I look up to seem to take this view & I believe this is what differentiates the great from the good. They appreciate the craft, the act of creating - not just the end result. It's a passion from start to finish & self-reflection before deciding to do it again, or actually ship it.

I'll leave you with a short documentary on the "madness" of one of my favorite skateboarders - Andrew Reynolds.
